Buy U.S. and Canadian Union Made Apparel
Years ago, most of the clothing bought in the U.S. and Canada was made here. However, over the past few decades, globalization has moved most of this production overseas to countries like China where workers make a small fraction of the wages in North America and often work in sweatshops.
But it is still possible to buy clothing made in the U.S. and Canada by union workers who have good wages, benefits and working conditions. You can buy good quality clothes and support good jobs here at home.
Many well known apparel brands are union made in North America. You can get Brooks Brothers suits and ties that are made in New York City, or Banana Republic suits and Gap jeans that are made in Quebec. The official Majestic baseball jerseys are made in Pennsylvania, Schott jackets are made in New Jersey, and Canada Goose coats are made in Ontario.
